Educational Requirements: Masters’
Degree in Zoology/Botany/Life Science/Wildlife
Science/Forestry/Environ-mental Science/Social Sciences relevant to
studies in human dimensions aspect of wildlife conservation with a
minimum of 60% aggregate marks from a recognized University.
Qualifications: Candidates
with strong physical and mental abilities. Having a keen desire to
carryout arduous field work in the remote and rugged high altitudes of
Uttarakhand Himalaya under extreme cold or rainy conditions with minimal
logistic support. Demonstrate ability to work in the field under harsh
conditions. Demonstrate a passion for wildlife research and
conservation. Experience in basic wildlife field techniques (study
design, sign surveys, line transects, sampling, camera trapping, etc.)
and conversant with data analysis, ecological and statistical software.
Have relevant research experience and published research papers to his/
her credit. Experience of participation in scientific
conferences/workshops/meetings. Field research experience relevant to
fish/insects/remote sensing/wildlife science/ high altitude
ecology/landscape approach to conservation/ social sciences relevant to
human dimension of wildlife conservation. Prior experience of working
with communities/Park people interface and related aspects.
